Blu-ray and HD-DVD: Packaging Guidelines
For DTS-HD Master Audio – "Lossless" Encodes
At a minimum, use this logo for packaging and inserts for all content that is encoded in DTS-HD Master Audio ("Lossless") bit-streams.
Optional Description Line
"DTS-HD Master Audio™ delivers multi-channel audio that is bit-for-bit identical to the studio master and delivers the ultimate high definition sound experience".
Optional Channel Count
DTS-HD Master Audio has the ability to encode and decode up to 7.1 discrete audio channels. It is highly recommended that channel count (5.1, 6.1 or 7.1) is added as an extension of the DTS-HD Master Audio logo. An example with a 7.1 channel count is shown to the right.
Optional Sampling Rate and Bit-depth
For high definition optical disc formats, the sampling frequency and bit-depth information may also be included. For example, a DTS-HD Master Audio ("lossless") 7.1 channel 96 kHz/24 bit recording and encode would use the DTS-HD Master Audio logo shown to the right.
When the sampling rate and bit-depth is displayed, we recommend the following text description:
"Audio was recorded and encoded in 7.1 channels at 96 kHz sampling frequency and 24 bit rate, offering superior sound quality and dynamic range".

For DTS-HD High Resolution – "Lossy" Encodes
At a minimum, use this logo (including the ™) for packaging and inserts for all content that is encoded in DTS-HD High Resolution Audio ("Lossy") bit-streams.
Optional Description Line
"DTS-HD High Resolution Audio™ delivers high resolution multi-channel audio for a clearer and more dramatic high definition sound experience."
Optional Channel Count
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio has the ability to encode and decode up to 7.1 discrete audio channels. It is highly recommended that channel count (5.1, 6.1 or 7.1) is added as an extension of the DTS-HD High Resolution Audio logo. An example with a 6.1 channel count is shown to the right.
Optional Sampling Rate and Bit-depth
For high definition optical disc formats, the sampling frequency and bit-depth information may also be included. For example, a DTS-HD High Resolution ("lossy") 6.1 channel 96 kHz/24 bit recording and encode would use the DTS-HD High Resolution Audio logo shown to the right.
When the sampling rate and bit-depth is displayed, we recommend the following text description:
"Audio was recorded and encoded in 6.1 channels at 96 kHz sampling frequency and 24 bit rate, offering superior sound quality and dynamic range."
