The CAD–5 decodes film soundtracks and music in multiple DTS formats on DVD, CD and Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) streams.

Decoding formats include:

• DTS 5.1 channel Coherent Acoustics (from 1.0 to 5.1 channels)
• DTS 96/24
• DTS-ES 6.1 Channel Discrete
• DTS Neo:6: will accept a stereo input signal and synthesize a 5.0 or 6.0 channel output (analog or digital)

Note: The CAD5 will only decode the core portion of a DTS–HD encode and is not regarded as a primary QC method for HD–DVD and Blu–Ray.
