With two additional channels, DTS-HD Master Audio radiates near perfect sound coverage throughout the listener's living room. Having 7.1 channels virtually eliminates any "holes" in the surround field and has the ability to increase the size of the "sweet spot" in the surround listening environment. This enables a great surround experience for everyone in the room - not just the person in the "sweet spot." You will feel as if you're right in the middle of the movie action as sounds are placed exactly where they would be naturally.
A second benefit of 7.1 channels is noticeably better special action effects. With more channels and speakers, the sound can be more accurately placed in the listening room. Special effects pans, like the flyover of a jet fighter plane, or arrows overhead, will be more dramatic and lifelike.
